The Little Train Newsletter
November 2023.
November STEAM activities. Your child has the opportunity to practice hands on experiements. Our October topic is "Icream counting and color sorting". Your child will practice counting from 1-20 (all ages). We well be sorting by color while we form groups of 10 and practice some simple math while having fun with "the ice cream counting kit". Reading matters, let the imagination fly! Imagination is funny, it makes a cloudy and cold day sunny. When we read to our children we allow them to construct their own whole world. Reading sparks the imagination that builds fundation in their understanding of how things work. If you read to your child for five minutes a day, you are helping to create a reading habit. Bring your child to the library and expose him/her to as many books as possible. Check out chosen books and read them at home as many times as possible. Make reading a family time, your child will be thankful for that time. Early exposure to books builds skills that let you child be ready for literacy. Get picture books with fewer words that is appropriate for your child’s age. Read short stories and ask your child what happen in the story, it will exercise the memory. Some books we have read lately are: "Sky Tree", (1995) By Thomas Locker. "Hop on Pop" (2019) By Dr Seuss "Are you ready to play outside"( 2008) By Mo Willems. "Enciclopedia Prehistórica" (2005) By Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart; Candelwick Press. Have fun reading with your child! Noticias y recordatorios: Happy Thanksgiving!! We will anounce the winner of the Turkey or Ham by November 21st at 5:30pm. |
